There are so many fun and entertaining players at State Wars but Baylee Wright from British Columbia is very unique. As a smaller player he grinds like he is 6-2 and 200 pounds. He is a fearless player who comes out of the corner with the puck 95% of the time. Baylee's got some soft hands and an awesome scoring touch. He brings a lot of intensity to his team and is a big game player!

SWH: How has your State Wars experience been? How does it differ from other events that you have been to?

BW: My experience has been really good.  I wish I could come every year. It’s different because there are no dream teams and it's equal. Every team is all from the same place, which is good.

SWH: What did you enjoy the most about State Wars 7?

BW: Meeting new kids on the BC team because some of my friends couldn't make the try-outs last year.

SWH: At your time at State Wars, have you had any rivals? Who?

BW: Yes, Aj Vanderbek and DeBrincat

SWH: What was your most memorable victory at State Wars?

BW: Winning two divisions in 2009.

SWH: Who would you say are some of the best players in North America? Who do you like watching? What do you like about their game?

BW: Noah Juulsen and Matt Garb. Matt is just unreal in everything about his roller hockey game, you have to watch him play. Noah Juulsen you just never know what he is going to do he is hard to play against.

SWH :  How would you describe the players in British Columbia?

BW: Very skilled!

SWH: What is your “home rink”? How often do you play roller hockey?

BW: Sportsplex in Langley, British Columbia. I go to open rink and shoot everyday if don't have ice hockey.

SWH: What do you like about the sport of roller hockey?

BW: I like the freedom so I can dangle!

SWH: What do you do in your free time? Hobbys?

BW: Besides ice and roller I dirt bike and play cod :)

SWH: When did you get involved with the sport? How long have you been playing?

BW: I started playing roller because my brother did. We played in the driveway when I was 3 or 4 and he taught me. Then I started playing on a team at 5.

SWH: What would you say is the strongest part of your game? What do you have to work on?

BW: My strongest part is my snipes and I need to work on my cellys.

SWH: Do you have any superstitions?

BW: I have to tape my stick before every game. I can't have any holes in my tape to stick handle.

SWH: Do you play any ice hockey? For who? Has roller hockey helped you in your ice game?

BW: I play bantam AAA ice hockey for Langley. I got my skill from roller for sure

SWH: State Wars has been in existence since 2005 and our numbers have grown tremendously over the years. What do you like about the State Wars concept?

BW: I like coming and playing all the different states. I'm glad state wars finally let Canada play.

SWH: How do you compare the skill level in British Columbia to the other states or provinces?

BW: I think our skill in BC is high because every player on our teams are very competitive and play to win every game. Other provinces focus more on ice hockey and we don't have a lot of roller rinks here.

SWH: Best jerseys at State Wars 7?

BW: Virginia and Colorado

SWH: One word that describes State Wars?

BW: Competitive

SWH: How do you feel about State Wars going to St. Louis? How do you think the Missouri teams will be?

BW: I like that it moves around to different places.  I wish State Wars was closer to us, so more of our teams could afford to fly there. The Missouri teams are decent.
